It's been a record breaking H.O.T. week here in Los Angeles. Like all you want to do is put your undergarments in the freezer kind of heat. (I didn't, in case you were wondering. But I was tempted. A LOT.)
Miller wakes up from his afternoon naps dripping in sweat, pasted hair to his ears and neck. Needless to say, it was time for another haircut.
But speaking of waking up from naps dripping with sweat, I am craving a new haircut as well. I've been growing it out for the last 4 years and it's LOOOONG again. Like middle of my back, high school grunge era long. Don't get me wrong. It's really pretty. But somehow it doesn't feel like me. I just end up pulling it back and looking more "Liz Lemon" than Sofia Vergara. Who am I kidding anyway, right?
This is my new (again) fave:
Maybe throw in a little old school Meg Ryan and some Ashley Judd for kicks? Thoughts?
P.S. Can you tell I'm craving some late 90's, early 2000's movie marathon??
P.S.S. And yes, I would totally donate it to Locks of Love. You should too, if you are sick of "April bunning" your hair everyday like I am. :)

Help! (Also, Julie, avert your eyes)
Are these really freaking awesome?
Or really freaking freaky?
I can't decide.
Whatever they are, they are really f#&*ing beautiful.

Hey, Autumn, be a dear and pour me another coffee please
Miller's hiding magnets in the couch cushions.
Heidi's scratching at the door.
I'm wondering if I have enough energy to brush my teeth today.
Why does a simple weather shift/a new part time job/ a 14 month old walking machine drain so much out of me?
After I run a few errands today (and while Miller takes a nap), I'm curling up with a cozy blanket, catching up on some magazine reading, and dreaming of pumpkin spiced baked goods.
Welcoming Fall doesn't sound so bad afterall.

Evan and I will be in a food coma in the corner.
Or tearing it up on the dance floor.
Or both.
Come say hi!

Gypsies and Goats and Deep Fried Twinkies- Oh My!
Because if you're going to take the long drive out to the Pomona Fairgrounds, you might as well eat a deep fried twinkie.
And deep fried oreos.
And deep fried pickles.
And ice cream.
And a pulled pork sandwich.
What? When in Rome, right? RIGHT?

See kids, drinking does pay off...
Miller should be thanking our livers, a little paint and some hot glue, because he now has a new set of alphabet magnets to play (and learn?) with.
We're working on making him a numbers and math symbols set as well.
And by "working on" I mean "drinking more beer" of course.

"Baby steps, Bob."
The anticipation is killing us. A step here. A step there. The continuous heartache as we watch new bumps and bruises appear. But, all in all this little guy is LOVING this new challenge.
He's still a bit timid about taking more than four steps at a time, but belly out and wobbly knees he giggles and beams brightly with only his stubby feet supporting him.
Charge on, Miller!
Here's to taking big leaps!
And to having a wonderful long weekend!

Don't worry- post fall, he's still laughing. :) |
