Waiting... Waiting... Wedding!

It finally came!
And it went by so fast!

It sounds so cliche to say that the whole day, the bride, the overall energy was so breathtakingly beautiful, but it, she and it truly, honestly, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart was.

I will repeat myself over and over again to state that it was an honor to take part in this celebration. These two are the easiest (and prettiest!) people to love, adore, and send well wishes for a wonderful marriage.

I love you guys. Welcome to your adventure!

See, I can be a productive person!

(**Disclaimer: DO NOT read this post until Saturday if you are a bridesmaid in Erin's wedding this weekend.  DO read this post if you enjoy cute pink crafty brooches.)

When I planned my own wedding (8 years ago!!), there were no etsy sites or awesome wedding blogs on the internet to be lost in.  I remember holding my DIY heart back, afraid of being viewed as having an immature, kitschy and cheap looking wedding.  I would smack that fearful gal upside the head now, shocking her back into diving heartfirst into crafting a day to showcase every detail, hope and reason why marrying your best friend is always a good idea.

It's a good thing my oldest friend who LOVES a good DIY crafty idea has blessed me with standing next to her this weekend as her matron of honor.

Check out these super adorable (and super simple!!) brooches and/or hairpins we've made for the bridesmaids to wear on the big day:

Supplies needed for each pin:
{3 graduated sized circles of tulle, 3 graduated sized circles of poly-silk blend fabric (with lightly singed edges from a lighter to help seal edges as well as creating a "petal like curling" effect), vintage rhinestone button (secured with thread), pin (secured with thread)}

What a treat!

My lovely nieces were in town this week while their parents relaxed on a much needed getaway.  (I can't wait to see pictures, guys!)  I'm not sure who had more fun with them around.  The girls?  Us?  Miller?  My in laws?  :)

We spent a wonderful day eating fresh waffles, watching movies (FOXY of course!), playing with ALL of Miller's toys, coloring, walking, etc etc etc.
This week went by too fast!  We can't wait to see you guys again soon!

"...home is whenever I'm with you..."

I don't make resolutions, because I just end up breaking them.  By January 3rd disappointment creeps in, explodes its suitcase and sets up camp on my living room floor.  You will not be a houseguest this year.  Jerk.

One thing I would like to re-solution this year is to start playing guitar again.  My sad little acoustic Yamaha waits, collecting dust bunnies.  Each time I've had to move it in the last ten years, it greets me with doe eyes in hopes that I pick it up, dust it off and, at the very least, tune the poor thing.  Sadly, I just end up shoving it into the dark abyss of our underbed world.

This father and his ridiculously adorable daughter singing Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros' "Home" inspire me to start getting my fingers calloused again.
